CONVENIENCE

Ride, hike, paddle or fish. We are located right next to the Withlacoochee State Trail loved by many cyclists (46 miles long paved trail). The Florida State trails located throughout and the proximity to the Withlacoochee State Forest offer many options to take in nature, birding trails and hiking trails. Kayak or paddle board locally as well. The Duval Island boat ramp is a mile from the coffee shop!

Nature

Visit the Floral City Heritage Museum and take a tour of the 1863 Duval-Metz house just down the street. The grounds will soon contain a representation of the Seminole village, Cho-illy-hajo, once located adjacent to the property. The Avenue of the Oaks planted in 1884 lines Orange Avenue and runs along historic homes creating the only Historic District in the county that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Floral City Events

Floral City Heritage Night

For nearly 35 years, Floral City Heritage Night has been a fixture on local calendars. Held on the first Friday night of December, it features “Candles, Carols & Carriages”. A thousand Luminarias – white paper sacks with sand and candles line either side of the Avenue of Oaks. The Avenue is closed to vehicular traffic, and visitors walk along the Avenue or ride in a horse-drawn wagon to view the Christmas decorations and hear the carolers and musicians performing from the porches of the historic homes. The Lion’s Club hold their annual Old Fashion Fish Fry in the Community House and next door, the Heritage Museum and the “Country” Store welcome all who visit. On the corner of Orange Ave and Old Floral City Road, giant wreaths hang at the windows of the 1863 Duval-Metz House greeting visitors for guided tours. The grounds are filled with photo opportunities, music, treats and a walk on the “Pathway to the Past”.

Annual Floral City Strawberry Festival

Late winter brings another signature tradition: the Floral City Strawberry Festival, held the first weekend in March at Floral Park.
The festival celebrates one of the area's favorite seasonal crops and brings visitors together for a weekend of food, entertainment, vendors and, of course, strawberries.
Pair a festival visit with the Avenue of the Oaks, historic sites, trail and local restaurants and it becomes an excellent reason for a weekend getaway.
